Abstract

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a disorder that causes interruptions in breathing during sleep, leading to fragmented sleep cycles and impacts on daily life, including fatigue, cognitive issues, and cardiovascular risks.


In Italy, over 24 million people suffer from OSA, many of whom remain undiagnosed due to the limitations of current methods, such as polysomnography, which is invasive and expensive.


In this context, AI Contact was developed as a diagnostic medical device designed to detect sleep apnea using visual contact and AI.


The device is designed to allow patients to undergo sleep monitoring in the comfort of their own homes, without the need for invasive sensors and electrodes, thus enabling continuous monitoring not limited to dedicated sessions.


This approach has led to an efficient, patient-centered solution that can be integrated into home decor like any other piece of furniture.
